Quick Overview

Everybody loves gifts, people spend astronomical amounts of money to buy and give gifts. Gifts are given for various reasons, good and bad. Gifts are given for anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, Christmas, Birthdays and Graduation or any special day such as Retirement. A gift or a present is an item given to someone without the expectation of payment. Most of the time gifts are given because of love given from one person to another person. So it is with God, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but shall have everlasting life”(John 3:16). God gave the gift of His Son freely, and He had a reason for giving the son as a gift. Most people have a reason for giving a gift and so did God when He gave us Jesus. “[He] not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b).  This series will help believers understand what the gifts of the Spirit are and what the purpose of the Gifts in the church.
